  • From the Artist:

“I firmly believe there is so much possibility for cross-disciplinary collaborations in the arts, especially in theatre. So, as I try to produce my new play It Sticks to the Ryver, I want to create a communal gallery space that lives and breathes with the world of the play.”

The Play:It Sticks to the Ryver is a play written for, with, and by disabled people (more specifically neurodiverse folk). Through it, we follow The Person, a college student, and The Other, a humanoid bird, as they learn to live and (re)grow together as a world collapses around them. After all, sometimes all you need is someone willing to wait with you.

The Google Form: It is meant as a way for me to connect with, see, read, hear, and generally interact with the work (artistic or academic) of my fellow queer and/or disabled creators. Any creator at any stage of their career/hobby is welcome to submit their work!

where to train

  • The objective of the workshop is to guide the participant to develop a clown who creates more from impulses than from ideas, thus being more authentic and true. A clown who celebrates our humanity, our divine and animal side, who creates moments of empathy and connection through emotions. The perception and acceptance of our impulses will be worked through simple exercises that will seek to expose us as we are and from there we can create a connection with the public.

“We need to create a clown that adapts to modern times and talks to us about the present” Richard P., that is why this technique seeks to create personal mythologies from which the participant manages to face all the directions of himself and then laugh at the beauty of his own ridiculousness. It is a work that creates from the inside out, from the very essence of being.

    Details:

    • August 16th & 17th, 9am - 5pm (with a 2hr lunch break)

    • 3680 Rue Jeanne-Mance, Montreal (BTW space)
