Give us an elevator pitch of your show.
Catch Me If You Can is a fast, stylish, high-energy musical that never really sits still, both in its storytelling and its world. At its core it is about the masks we wear, sometimes chosen, sometimes not, and what happens when we start to lose track of what is real. What drew the director to it is the balance between energy and honesty. It is entertaining and sharp on the surface but grounded in very human moments. The pace of the show naturally contrasts with its quieter, more reflective moments. It explores the space between who we are and who we present to the world and what happens when that gap starts to close.
What is your favourite part of this production?
Working with this group of people, watching us grow into a real sense of family, and building trust and connection in the room.
Why is this show important for audiences to see right now?
It reminds people why they fell in love with theatre in the first place, explores the gap between what we put out into the world and who we really are, and the question of what’s real beneath that, and brings that sense of excitement you can only get from live performance. It’s full of energy, humour, and big moments.
What has been this production’s greatest challenge?
Bringing all the moving parts together: music, choreography, staging, and all the technical and design elements and continuing to refine it as everything comes fully into place. Additionally, ensuring every choice feels intentional and serves the story as a whole.
